Living with Difference: Exploring Racism & Australian Identity
This program takes a lively look at the topical issues of race and cultural identity in Australian society. Some of Australia's leading experts - such as Mary Kalantzis, Robert Manne and Katherine Betts - give their views on issues such as the causes of racism. The role and significance of racial humour is also analysed, and they provide basic explanations of key concepts and policies.
Secondary schools students from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds give examples of their experiences of racism in Australia, and discuss whether they believe Australia is a successful multicultural society.
